Carmen Littlechild, MSW

Reg. Social Worker

You may be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, emotionally in pain, or unsure how to move forward, even if, on the outside, it looks like you’re holding everything together. You might be navigating anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, trauma, ADHD, grief, or the weight of ongoing stress, and wondering how long you can keep pushing through on your own.

I work with people who are carrying a lot, emotionally, mentally, and relationally, and are looking for a space where they can slow down, feel understood, and begin to make sense of what’s happening inside. My goal is to offer a grounded, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to explore your experiences and supported enough to move toward meaningful change.

I approach therapy through a trauma-informed, relational lens that honours both your history and your present-day needs. Together, we work to understand patterns that may be contributing to distress, strengthen emotional regulation, and build resilience in ways that align with your values and goals. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and self-compassion practices, tailoring our work to what feels most helpful for you.

My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, workplace stress and burnout, relational concerns, ADHD management, trauma, grief and loss, addictions, couples therapy, and other challenges that can affect wellbeing at work and at home. I bring cultural sensitivity and deep respect for each person’s lived experience into my work, and I believe healing happens best within a supportive, collaborative connection.

I’ve been a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in Alberta since 2014 and hold both a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work (Clinical Specialization) from the University of Calgary. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals through many seasons of life, including periods of uncertainty, growth, and change.

Outside of my clinical work, I’m a proud cat and dog mom, a photographer at heart, and someone who finds meaning in music and creativity. I believe connection, self-expression, and balance are essential parts of wellbeing, and these values inform the way I show up in my work.

If you’re considering therapy, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.
