Assured Psychology | Calgary, Alberta
Things are often not what they appear, and our past experiences might have negative effects on our self-esteem and self-image, how we perceive things and the way how we relate to others. Those past experiences often prevent us from moving forward in life and keep us stuck. I can help you process challenging present and past experiences and accompany you on the journey to achieve better mental health, healthier relationships, and meaningful lives.
I have been passionately providing counselling to individuals, couples, children and families and supporting them in their journey to reach their full potential in the past 20 years. I have been helping clients who are facing depression and anxiety as a result of life challenges such as relationship issues, divorce and separation, past traumas, parenting issues, health concerns etc.
I hold a Master degree in Counselling Psychology and I am registered with College of Alberta Psychologists. I have a psychodynamic background and in my practice, I use Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Techniques and Solution-focused approach. I also work from trauma-informed and attachment-based perspective.
I come from the Czech Republic and my professional and personal journey went through New Zealand to Canada. I have been very fortunate to practice mental health on three different continents. Through my journey, I have learned an incomparable multicultural perspective and to appreciate and respect each client’s unique story. I enjoy my life in Alberta with my husband and my children and on the weekends we especially like hiking, camping, skiing and any other outdoor activities. I am always impressed by the immense majesty of the Canadian Rockies, where I regain my life peace and balance. I also enjoy reading paper books and travelling.
I also offer counselling in Czech and Slovak languages.
